Today's MRI Results

Results from today's MRI - some good news, some not news & some not so good news.

Good news: The right breast is clean and clear!

Not news: The MRI confirmed 4 masses in the left breast and 3 are close to the nipple, so there will be a mastectomy of the left breast including the nipple.

Not so good news: They found 4 malignant lymph nodes (masses) and this changes her N score from N1 to N2. This also moves her to Stage 3. :(

From the National Cancer Institute Website: Regional lymph nodes (N) NX: Cancer in nearby lymph nodes cannot be measured. N0: There is no cancer in nearby lymph nodes. N1, N2, N3: Refers to the number and location of lymph nodes that contain cancer. The higher the number after the N, the more lymph nodes that contain cancer.
